Geodoku is a free daily geography game, inspired by Metrodoku. Every day, a 3×3 grid: each row and each column sets a constraint, and each cell needs a country that meets both.
The rules
Find the country
It must satisfy both its row and its column. Several answers are possible!
Unique countries
Each country can only be used once across the entire grid.
5 mistakes max
You have 5 lives: each wrong answer costs you one.
Be original
The rarer your country among today's players' picks, the more points it scores.
- CommonOver 50 % of players
- Uncommon25 to 50 %
- Rare10 to 25 %
- Ultra-rare10 % or less
Scoring
Your final score adds up three bonuses, out of 1000 points.
Filled cell: 50 pts
Up to 450 points, the core of the score.
Remaining life: 20 pts
Up to 100 points.
Rarity bonus
Up to 450 points depending on the country's rarity.

Practice
Once today's grid is done, the previous seven grids stay playable, with unlimited attempts. A game ends when a cell can no longer be filled, or when you give up. Practice is scored out of 900: no lives, so no lives bonus.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does Geodoku cost?Nothing. The game is free, with no account and no ads.
- When does the new grid come out?Every day at midnight UTC. Everyone plays the same grid.
- What happens when a cell has no answer left?It gets blocked: every country that fits is already placed elsewhere. The game ends when you run out of lives or when no cell can be filled anymore.
- Do I need to install an app?No. Geodoku runs in your browser, on phone or computer.
- Where do the answers come from?From dated public sources such as REST Countries, the CIA World Factbook, the World Bank, the FAO and Wikidata. During a game, tap a constraint to see its own.
